Armed robbers attack bank in Osun, kill policeman, two others

There was pandemonium in Ila, the headquarters of Ila Local Government in Osun State on Thursday, as suspected armed robbers numbering 15 raided a commercial bank in the town, killing three people.

According to an eyewitness, who confirmed the attack to DAILY POST, the robbers came with sophisticated weapons, including dynamites, which they used to blow up the security doors before gaining entry into the banking hall.

” They came in three vehicles and started shooting sporadically; tree people, including a police officer and one civilian were killed in the process.

“The robbers operated freely for over two hours without hindrance, everybody was running helter skelter for safety, it was really a bad experience,” the source said.

DAILY POST gathered that the robbers carted away unspecified amount of money, as police in the state were yet to issue official statement on the robbery incident.
